How to install tiles on Floors – Requirements and pre-requisites
Now that you have planned and ordered the kind of tiles that you want. The next thing is to do further planning on the placing of tiles and their installation. If you have measured on the type, size, look and design of the tiles to be purchased, then the rectangular and square grids of tiles can be placed with a little more effort put into planning and action.
There are certain pre-requisites on placing and installing tiles successfully on the floors of your homes. And some of them are
Flat and evened out sub-floors
Sub-floors play a major role in keeping your tiles intact. Evened out sub-floors with plain and smooth base are the best kind of floors for the tiles to sit comfortably. Jerky surfaces may even break the tiles after installation. That could be highly embarrassing after letting the interiors go through a complete makeover. We do not want this to happen after investing all the money, effort and time on them. We might even prefer to fix such problems well before the completion.
Choose the right adhesive
Adhesives are so much important as poor adhesives might force a tile out of the surface so easily. Adhesives must be strong enough to make the tiles put up comfortably on the floor without being ruffled up out of the groove. There are a number of leading adhesives offered by many leading companies. Buy such branded adhesives and ignore cheap duplicate ones.
Adhesives are the only problematic substance that create dirty feet for the first few days after the completion of the tiling of floors. You may have to constantly wash it and wipe it with mops for more a period of a couple of weeks. Then the tiling will start to show equal smoothness compared to the traction it provides, which will not let us feel dirty-footed.
Keep grout in store
Water, Cement, Lime and Sand are quite important as the mortar that you apply between one tile and another must be in right quantities. The quality of the mortar prepared and the quantity of the grout applied between each tile must cover up the seams between one tile and another. This will make the separate tiles blend together and convert themselves as one floor covering the entire floor.
Along with these, ensure some more precaution on using the right kind of accessories and tools while installing. Use hammers, wooden tools, mallets and others to make the process more easier for you. When we start of with something new, we may not be aware of the potential problems that arise as we proceed. But theoretically knowing them will help us fix those problems as and when they occur, and in most cases, the same awareness will help us prevent these problems from taking place!
