What Feng Shui says on Various Rooms

Feng Shui is known as Geomancy in English. Feng Shui is the usage of the interiors and a set of Feng Shui Principles to bring about harmony, serenity, health and adequate or abundant wealth. Feng Shui directs the flow of Sheng Chi, which is called as the Good Chi throughout the house, and blocks the Sha Chi, which is considered as the Bad Chi.

Let us look into various rules of Feng Shui which have to be followed in your interiors, for you to attain peace of mind, good health and good wealth. This ancient art is very much scientific and is way beyond common sense. The various rooms in your houses may be designed by Feng Shui principles to direct the flow of Sheng Chi into your house.

Bedroom

When common sense suggests that beds should not be placed near windows, Feng Shui affirms the fact and the principles of Feng Shui suggest that placing the bed near the window directs more of Sha Chi on to us and bring about bad health. Glowing heat and light from outside that falls on to the bed is a major source that incurs Sha Chi.

Do not place your beds in a manner that makes you look straight through the door. You might turn cautious on who is roaming outside and who is bound to enter, and may eventually lose sleep. Wood is close to nature and wooden beds bring Sheng Chi and metal beds incur Sha Chi. Do not let mirrors reflect both you and the windows.

Reflected Windows increase the amount of heat and light, and reflecting yourself causes you disturbing nights. Place your beds in neutral positions to those of the windows and the doors as this will help the flow of Sheng Chi. Do not decorate with overhead Chandeliers as they are a sign of oppression on the occupants of the bed.

Drawing Room

Circular Furniture in the living room is the best way of increasing the flow of Sheng Chi. Sheng Chi circulates with ease in the circular arrangement of furniture. ‘L’ shapes are avoidable and other shapes such as Octagons and Squares welcome Sheng Chi.

Do not let the backs of Chairs face the windows and doors as Glare and Silhouetting of people are Sha Chi in Feng Shui.

Dining Room & Kitchen

Circular Tables are again the most welcome shapes in Feng Shui. Dining Tables can be circular in shape to bring Sheng Chi. Once again, common sense goes with Feng Shui, as both suggest that enough flow of air and light inside the dining rooms are a must.

Keep wall backgrounds and Chair foregrounds, as Chairs require backing of the wall than an outside source of light such as window. And the Kitchens must be made of or equipped with natural elements such as Wood. The presence of Fire and Water are inevitable in a Kitchen and they go well with a naturalistic atmosphere with Wood etc.

Let there be a screened separation between the kitchen and the dining table, if they are juxtaposed with each other in the same room.

Other Rooms and Rules

Always keep toilets closed as they act as exits to Sheng Chi, use bamboos, mirrors and chimes to cut Sha Chi away. Keep rectangular Study Tables and let the back of Chairs face walls. Use plants, normal and sufficient lights to proliferate Sheng Chi inside your home for good health and wealth!
